As expected, there is quite a bit of uneasiness, apprehension, and negativity in our country today. I think it's important to realize that whichever way the election went, there would be a large majority that are unhappy. In between the many negative comments I've seen throughout social media already I've also seen some of hope; hope coming from republicans, hope coming from democrats, and hope coming from independents alike. Hope that we as a country can come together and support each other, hope that we can support our government, and hope that we will help move our country in a direction that we can be proud of.
Whether or not we feel our President Elect is the right person for the job, he has a job to do. We need our voices to be heard and our goals shared. We need our passions to be felt and our uneasiness understood. The way to do this is not through hate, not through negativity, and not through insults. If we want to be heard let's make our messages clear, let's explain our reasoning so others understand, and let's come together in a way that we want our children to be proud of.
I've seen some posts with the Pledge of Allegiance this morning, and I think that's a great way for us to start this new day. Let's pledge allegiance to this great country of ours and let's lead by example each and every day so that our children and the children of our great country can be proud.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, One Nation Under G-d, Indivisible with liberty and justice for all!
God Bless America and God bless ALL those who love and support her!
